Car Leasing Questions
Here's a few common questions when leasing a car or van.
To lease a car, you need to be over the age of 18, be a resident of the UK for a minimum of 5 years & be on the electoral roll. If you have been in the UK for less than five years but more than two years, we may still be able to help you. You will also need a full driving license.
Not always. A good credit score is preferable; however, we would look at a person’s credit file and discuss reasons for low scores and see if there is a way forward with providing additional information for the finance company to make a decision. If you have CCJ or other non-payment events on your file these would affect your credit score which may make it difficult to achieve the level of credit required.
You are responsible for maintaining the vehicle in accordance with the Manufacturer’s warranty for the duration of the contract i.e., Servicing the vehicle at the required mileage intervals. Other costs such as Tyres, oil changes (where applicable), brake pads and other perishable parts. With all our contracts we can provide you with a FULLY MAINTAINED contract, which includes the cost of maintaining your vehicle. This will be additional to the pricing you see on our website and will be added to your monthly fee. Please ask one of our dedicated leasing specialists for more information.
In the leasing world we don’t see the amount you put upfront as a deposit as a deposit. The reasoning behind this, is the word “deposit” suggests that it is refundable.. All your payments are called “rentals” Your initial rental can be as much or as little as you can afford comfortably.
The higher your initial rental, the lower your monthly rentals are, however changing your initial rental will not adjust the total amount you are borrowing.
In most cases your initial rental is taken 7-10 days after delivery, but there are some finance companies that require your monthly rental to be paid prior to delivery. Please do not hesitate to contact us for further information.
